The center also takes light bulbs, batteries, and all aerosol cans.

After collecting these materials, the Landfill has them shipped to a disposal center in Texas. Its mission is to keep hazardous materials out of the Cherokee Landfill.

Currently, the Center has over 60 gallons of paint and wood-stain that could be used and is offering it free to anyone who would like it.

The Household Hazardous Materials Regional Collection Center at the Cherokee Landfill is open Monday through Wednesday from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., from April through November. It is located in the first building to your left when entering the Landfill.
