4-H is a powerful vehicle for helping kids develop competence, confidence, character, and compassion for others as evidenced by research conducted by Tufts University. The study also revealed that kids who participated in 4-H were 3.5 times more likely to contribute to their families, themselves and their communities.

Through 4-H, youth have the opportunity to work with caring, committed adult volunteers. These opportunities for positive youth development, reduce the likelihood of youth to engage in risky behaviors such as underage drinking, smoking, bullying, and vandalism. The 4-H promise to kids and parents is: Fun, Friends, Choices, Great Trips, and Events. A safe place to learn and do new things, Leadership, Citizenship, Communication skills, Service opportunities, Scholarship opportunities, adults who care, and hands-on experiences.

Is it worth it?

You bet!
