KINGSLEY - The South O'Brien Cross Country runners continued to shine as they ran at the Kingsley-Pierson Invitational Meet , run on the Kingsley Golf Course on Tuesday afternoon.
The Wolverines won the Boys Varsity team competition, scoring 45 points to runner-up Woodbury Central/Kingsley-Pierson's 71. Le Mars Gehlen Catholic was third with 84 points, followed by Hinton with 95 points and Westwood 111. Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn also had runners competing, but not enough to qualify for the team championship.

Individual Varsity Boys results from area athletes: Daniel Patterson, South O'Brien, placed 5th, with a time of 17:15.78 for the 5k course. SOS' Austin Dunnick was 6th, with a time of 17:23.15; the Wolverines' Luke Hoger was 7th, with a time of 17:30.32; Tanner Hedberg was15th, in 18:41.71; Brian Haden was 16th (18:44.43); Ben Aberson was 17th (18:45.65); and Sean Anderson was 30th, in 19:46.00. Roman Galles was MMC/RU's highest finsiher, placing 19th with a time of 18:59.35, while the Eagles' Zack Kellogg was 33rd, in a time of 19:52.25, and Nathan Ruba was 45th, finishing with a time of 20:47.21.
MMC Coach Mark Fisher commented, "Our boys all ran their best times of the year, and for many of them they were their best times of their career. I was really proud of the effort they've put in now paying off."

Varsity Girls individual results(area schools) :
Halee Rahbusch of SOS finished 3rd, with a time of 16:48.77 over the 4k course; MMC/RU's Nicki Schwarz placed 5th, with a time of 17:02.98; and these South O'Brien girls finished as indicated : Miranda Liebsack was 29th, with a time of 20:05.56; Sarah Bird was 30th, with a time of 20:17.65; Olivia Sickelka was 31st, in 20:29.01 ; Kellie Einck was 37th, running a 21:08.24; and Rebecca Thiel was 43rd, finishing with a time of 22:06.20.
MMC/RU's Kimberly Schroeder finished 41st, with a time of 21:47.38.
South O'Brien also had a team of JV boys compete and they took the JV team championship, scoring 20 points. The Hinton I team scored 51 points and Woodbury Central/KP was 3rd, with 63 team points.
