The City of Cherokee recently announced its fall fire hydrant flushing schedule.
Starting today, flushing will be west of U.S. Highway 59 to the railroad tracks and north on Bluff Street to Victory Drive to include the Lundsgaard Addition, Fishman Addition and in the area of Autumn Park Apartments, Hy-Vee Food Store and Sioux Valley Drive.
On Tuesday, Oct. 9 flushing will be along Highway 3, Hy-Vee Warehouse area, Colony Addition, Ament Addition, Valley View (Timber Ridge) and Roosevelt School.
On Wednesday, Oct. 10 flushing will be along 1100 block of West Main Street north to Iowa Street, West Bluff Street north to the Country Club Area, Bacon Aquatics Center area and Walnut Street.
On Thursday, Oct. 11 flushing will be at the area north of Main Street to Hill Street, west of Highway 59 to North 11th Street.
On Friday, Oct. 12 flushing will be at the area south of Main Street to the City Sewer Plant and west of Highway 59 to South 11th Street including Oak Knoll Addition, but excluding the area south of the bridge on Highway 59 by Koser Spring Lake Park
On Monday, Oct 15 flushing will be in the area south of Main Street to the former Jesse's Fine Meats and east of Highway 59 including the Work Activity Center and Koser Spring Lake Park. This includes the Park View, Rock Island and Doherty Additions.
On Tuesday and Wednesday, Oct. 16 and 17 the City will be flushing the area north of Main Street to Gillease Street and east of Highway 59.
