STORM LAKE - The Cherokee Washington High cross country teams posted some of their best times of the season at Tuesday's Lakes Conference Cross Country Meet here.
The Cherokee boys' team didn't field enough runners to figure in the team title race, but two Braves finished high enough to notch All-Lakes Confernce honors, including Eamon Adamson, who placed sixth in 17.26, and Jaden Lux, 13th in 17.51 in the rugged competition. Andy Pitts was 41st in 20:12.
The Cherokee varsity girls ran their best race as a team all season, according to Hoskinson. Hanna Bennigsdorf led her team with a 23rd place finish in 17:25, followed by Breeanna DeVos 36th in 18:35, Danni Roethler 47th in 19:32, Sydney Hart 49th in 19:55, Abby Lubeck 53rd in 22:54, and Amber Lundquist 54th in 23:28.
"The wind was blowing and the temperatures were chilly, but we had a great night," added Hoskinson.
Spencer won the girls' team title with 41 points, followed by Le Mars 63, Hull Western Christian 69, Estherville-LC 89, Spirit Lake 104, Emmetsburg 147, Cherokee 208, and Storm Lake 220.
