CORRECTIONVILLE - River Valley hosted Woodbury Central in a Western Valley Conference volleyball match here on Thursday, and the Wolverines fell to the Wildcats, 3 games to 1, in their final match of the regular season. Game scores were 25-22, 22-26, 16-25 and 16-25.

Olivia Goettsch had five kills and six blocked shots for the Wolverines, while Alysa Georgopoulos had four kills and five blocks.

RV Coach Pamela Frederiksen said, "It was senior night, and all four of my seniors played and did a great job.

"Alysa Georgopoulos was strong at the net with her blocking and hitting and she also had some great serves that kept us going. Kristin Connell did a nice job setting in the front row; and Brianna Colshan. and Cheyanne Porter did a good job passing from the back row and really got down on the floor on a few digs.

"These seniors will be missed next year by our whole team. They have been a joy to be around, and I thank all four for their hard work and dedication to River Valley volleyball."

The Wolverines (3 - 29) play Kingsley-Pierson Tuesday night in first round Class 1A Regional Tournament play at Kingsley.
