River Valley wallops Whiting

Riedemann rushes for 5 TDs, passes for 3

CORRECTIONVILLE - River Valley quarterback Brennan Riedemann rushed for a whopping five touchdowns and passed for three more to pace the Wolverines to a decisive 68-14 pasting of Whiting here Friday night.

All told, Riedemann carried the ball 12 times for 249 yards and five TDs, the longest for 43 yards in the offensive onslaught. He also hooked up with favorite receiver Josh Pansegrau for three more TDs, with Pansegrau finishing with seven receptions for 204 yards. Riedemann completed 11-17 passes for 275 yards along the way.

River Valley's Adam Schirmer tallied two rushing TDs, the longest seven yards, while compiling seven carries for 53 yards in the game. Schirmer also had two catches for 22 yards, and Mason Alitz one reception for 35 yards for the winners.

Defensively for the Wolverines, Schirmer, Wyatt Fitch, and Sam Briese recovered Whiting fumbles.

Schirmer also led his team in teackles with 12, followed by Briese nine, Parker Goettsch seven, Hunter Casey, Fitch, and Pasegrou six apiece, and Riedemann five.

No game statistics were made available for Whiting.

River Valley (3-5) is scheduled to end its regular season Friday when hosting Clay Central Everly (0-8), but according to some, that game may be forfeited by CCE due to injuries resulting in a lack of a sufficient number of players in the 8-player district.
