HOLSTEIN - Matt Wandrey rushed for one touchdown, and picked off a pass and rambled 60 yards to paydirt for another TD to pace Ridge View to a 28-26 "upset" win over Odebolt-Arthur/Battle Creek-Ida Grove in Class 1A District 2 football action here Friday night.
The victorious Raptors also received rushing TDs from quarterback Ryan Garthoff and from Dru Kenny, a pair of two-point conversion runs from Garthoff, and two PATs from Jesus Nava to round out their scoring.
Garthoff completed 5-10 passes for Ridge View for 67 yards and one interception, with Wandrey catching two of those for 21 yards, and Kenny one for 23 yards.
Cash Wilcke rushed for three TDs for the Falcons, while Trever Ryen returned a kick-off 76 yards to the end zone to thrill the Falcon faithful. Ryen also tacked on two two-point conversions for OABCIG to total the scoring.
Falcon QB Allen Creighton completed 5-9 passes in the game for 32 yards and one interception.
Michael Davidson led the Raptors on defense with 11 tackles, followed by Kenny 10, Jared Hinkeldey and Mason Johnson eight apiece, Nate Myrice seven, and Kirby Goettsch six.
Ridge View rushed 51 times for 210 yards, and OABCIG carried the ball 38 times for 165 yards.
Wilcke also had a fumble recovery for the Falcons, and their tackle leaders included Trevor Schnuckel 10, Ryen nine, and Logan Scott six.
Ridge View (4-4) plays at District leader IKM Manning (8-0) Friday night.
