Fire Department purchases new thermal camera

Friday, October 19, 2012

The Cherokee Fire and Rescue Department had to replace its 15-year-old Scotts Thermal Imager camera with a new one, which cost $9250, recently. Money from this year's Fireman's Dance in April and donations were used to purchase the camera.

Steve Hirschman, left, Manager of O'Halloran Internationa, and Kelley Kannegieter, right, an O'Halloran employee who is also a Cherokee fire fighter, are shown here as they present a $1,000 check to Cherokee Fire Chief Gary Chase to help cover cost of the new camera. Photo contributed
