The Learning with Lunch series continues on Wednesday, Nov. 7 from noon to 1 p.m. at Western Iowa Tech Community College. November's program will be "Healthy Cooking Tips for Holiday Survival."

Tonya Huenink, Hy-Vee registered dietitian, will share helpful ideas for a healthy holiday. Come learn easy and delicious recipes, healthy substitutions, and tips for watching your waistline during the holidays.

Huenink will demonstrate a couple of guilt-free holiday recipes and will give you simple, practical tips to help you avoid overeating at all your holiday gatherings. Wouldn't it be great to start the New Year without those extra holiday pounds? This fun and informative Learning with Lunch session will teach you how.

Learning with Lunch is a series of workshops on a different topic, offered each month thru April 2013, brought to you by ISU Extension and Outreach, Cherokee County along with Western Iowa Tech and Hy-Vee.

Cost for the program is $6 per person, which covers the cost of a light lunch. To reserve a seat and lunch, participants must preregister by Tuesday, Nov. 6 by calling the Cherokee County Extension office at 225-6196, or email xcherokee@iastate.edu to preregister.

If you would like to know what the topics are for the upcoming months, please give us a call.
