CRMC Wellness Center to host weight loss challenge

The CRMC Wellness Center is happy to bring back the F.I.T.- In Cherokee mini weight loss challenge this fall. F.I.T. represents "Forever in Training," and the focus is to encourage participants to forever train themselves to make health a lifestyle. The program is for people of all ages and activity levels looking to take an active approach to leading a healthier lifestyle in the future.

The "mini" challenge is a five-week commitment from Monday, Nov. 5 to Friday, Dec. 7. Throughout this challenge, CRMC Wellness Center staff will help participants to recognize and utilize the resources available to help them succeed. Participants are asked to put forth a dedicated effort to try their best. A longer three-month challenge will begin in January 2013.

There will be an entry fee of $25 for participants in the first challenge. Included will be a F.I.T. -In Cherokee t-shirt, nutrition class, three weigh-ins (body fat composition and weight will be tracked), a food and activity journal, and a schedule of available fitness classes. Participants choosing not to receive a t-shirt may enter the challenge for $15.

Prizes will be awarded to the top three individuals in the competition Entrants are not required to be a member of the CRMC Wellness Center to enter the F.I.T.- In Cherokee contest; however, one must be a member, or pay the daily fee, to use the Wellness Center facilities.
