A-A boys run at State XC Meet

FORT DODGE - The Alta-Aurelia boys competed in the Class 1A State Cross Country Meet here on Saturday afternoon, and the Warrior boys finished 14th in the Team Standings, with 274 team points.

Sophomore Ross Friedrich lead the Warrior contingent, completing the 5k course in a time of 17:50 to place 40th in the field of more than 130 runners.

Other Alta-Aurelia runners included senior Tyler Larson (52nd, 18:10); sophomore Michael Swanson (53rd, 18:11); sophomore Trenton Delp (64th, 18:27); senior Jason VanHaaften (65th, 18:29); sophomore Sean Berg (78th, 18:50); and senior Titus Letzring (94th, 19:32).

St. Albert's of Council Bluffs successfully defended the Class 1A Boys Team title they won last year, totaling 68 team points. St. Albert's Josh Sindelar was also the individual champion, with a time of 16:15. Denver placed 2nd with 84 points, while Riverside of Oakland was 3rd, Wilton 4th, and Trinity Christian of Hull 5th.
