Margaret L. Nation, age 89, of Norfolk, Neb. and formerly Cherokee, passed away Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012 at the Stanton Health Center in Norfolk, Nebraska. Memorial graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Cherokee Memory Gardens Cemetery, with Pastor Tom Lewis officiating. Visitation for Margaret was held Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. at the Stonacek Funeral Chapel in Norfolk. The Greenwood-Schubert Funeral Home in Cherokee is assisting the family with arrangements. Margaret L. Nation was born Nov. 19, 1922, at Washta, to Frank and Alice (Baker) Witcombe and attended school to the 11th grade in Iowa.

She married Dale Nation Oct. 6, 1942, at Cherokee. They lived at Cherokee. Margaret was a housewife. She enjoyed reading her Bible, spending time with family and friends. They enjoyed traveling, and Margaret was also a collector of nutcrackers.

The couple to Mesa, Ariz., in 1981, then to Norfolk in 1991. Margret was a member of First Church of Christ in Cherokee.Margaret was preceded in death by her husband Dale in 2000, and survivors include two daughters, Linda and Carl Santee of Norfolk, Neb. and Dian and Steve Sand of Chandler, Ariz.; four grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
