Grady B. Ford, 79, of Marshall, Mo., died Friday, November 9, 2012, at The Living Center in Marshall.
Funeral services are being held at 2:30 p.m. today at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall, with Kathleen Schmidtke officiating.
Visitation is being held today from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church in Marshall. Friends may sign the online register book at www.campbell-lewis.com
Born March 8, 1933, in Sterling, Okla., he was the son of the late Grady Beauchamp Ford and Gladys Waggoner Ford. On Aug. 31, 1973, he married Barbara Deal Hemeyer who survives. He was a graduate of Sterling High School and Oklahoma State University where he was a member of the Oklahoma State National Championship Livestock Judging Team. He worked for Wilson Foods for 30 years and served as head hog buyer at the Marshall plant. He was a member of First United Methodist Church.
In addition to his wife, survivors include one daughter, Josie Tarbert and husband James of Lemon Grove, Calif.; two sons, Bret Ford and wife Shari of Cedar Falls, and Jeff Hemeyer and wife April of rural Marshall; five grandchildren, Spencer Ford and wife Megan, Dalton Ford, Bennett Ford, Cassandra Hemeyer and Jack Hemeyer; one great-grandson, Alexi Alvarez; one brother, Ron Ford of Marlow, Okla.; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Robert (Bob) Ford; and one sister, Betty Blundell.
