On Monday, November 12, members of the Cherokee VFW L.A. Wescott Post #2253 held a Veteran's Day memorial service at the Cherokee Veteran's Memorial, located outside of the Cherokee County Courthouse.

Pictured here is Bob Conley, as he plays"Taps" At Conley's left is LeRoy Jenness of Cherokee, who serves as VFW National Deputy Chief of Staff. For more photos of area Veteran's Day observances, see the "November Area Happenings" Photo Gallery.

Bob Conley is one of the finest people of Cherokee that I have ever met! His dedication to the people of Cherokee and The Veterans gives me a huge smile and a big "Thanks Mr. Conley." The Cherokee VFW is the best and always has been!I've been gone a long time but will never forget the great folks that have inspired me... Thanks Bob... Thank you Cherokee... You make me smile...
