MMC students play in Honor Band

SIOUX FALLS, SD - On November 9 and 10 four of Marcus Meriden Cleghorn's many talented band students were selected to attend the 55th Annual Augustana College Honor Band Festival.

Augustana College hosted 300 talented instrumentalists and 70 band directors representing schools from Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota and South Dakota for their two-day event.

Tana Jones (Percussion) Megan Bush (Saxophone), Kaya Hantsbarger (Trumpet), and Dawn Henderson (Flute) were among students who participated. The top musicians from the five-state region are chosen to attend the event.

The weekend started Friday, November 9 with rehearsals, clinics, recitals, and recreational activities, followed with a Grand Finale Concert held Saturday evening, November 10, in the Great Hall of the Washington Pavilion.

The three Festival bands were conducted, under the direction of guest conductor Mr. Ralph Ford from Troy University, Composer and Clinician, Dr. Paul R. Schilf, Interim Director of Bands at Augustana College, and Dr. Bruce T. Ammann, Director of Bands at Augustana College. The concert also featured the Augustana Band, conducted by Dr. Bruce T. Ammann.
