Stowater promoted at Hy-Vee Distribution Center

Hy-Vee proudly announces the selection of Lisa Stowater to the position of Assistant Vice President, Cherokee Distribution Center. Currently serving as Assistant Vice President, Transportation and Human Recourses at Cherokee, Lisa will take over the reins for Greg McQuistan who recently announced his retirement.

Stowater's Hy-Vee career has been spent entirely at the Cherokee Distribution Center and its Offices so she knows the operation like the back of her hand. She began working for the company in 1991 in the Grocery department as a part-time record keeper. She moved to the Buying department in 1993, then transferred to the office working in various areas before moving to the Human Resource department in 1999.

A year later, she was promoted to Human Resource Manager for Cherokee office and also was named a member of the Hy-Vee Executive Staff. In 2003 she assumed the role of Director, Human Resources, Cherokee and in 2005 transportation duties were added to her position when she was named Director, Transportation and Human Resources.

She was named Assistant Vice President Transportation and Human Resources, Cherokee in December of 2007, the position she currently holds.

She is a graduate of Meriden-Cleghorn High School. Besides earning a B.S. degree from Bellevue University, she also received a Registered Nursing degree from Iowa Central Community College. Lisa is married to Darren and the couple has five children; Derek, Lauren, Tonya, Jasey and Kristian. Keeping up with family's activities keeps Lisa busy during her free time. You will also find her pursuing other favorite pastimes that include spending time with her horses, dogs, and working on remodeling projects.

When asked about her promotion. "I am thrilled to be working for Hy-Vee in this new capacity. Our workforce in Cherokee is very successful and dedicated. This has been a key factor related to the growth and new opportunities that the Cherokee facility has seen in recent years. It is truly an honor to be a member of this community."
