The Cherokee County Fair Association and the management team for the 4-H Expo Center are pleased to announce that they are now accepting memberships for use of the indoor riding arena.
Those individuals/families purchasing a membership in December will receive the month of December at no additional charge and their membership will be valid through December 31, 2013. Membership fees collected will go towards utilities, insurance, and upkeep of the building as well as future improvements and to provide free use of the facility for scheduled 4-H club events.
An Open House and membership sign-up has been scheduled for Saturday, December 15 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the 4-H Expo Center for those interested in seeing the facility and purchasing a membership. Refreshments will be served.
If you need an additional Christmas gift or stocking stuffer, there are a few remaining copies of the 4-H Family Cookbook that will be available for purchase. The 4-H Beef Weigh-in will be taking place that morning, so visitors are asked to please park where they will not interrupt the flow of trailers for the weigh-in.
A web site is currently being developed where members will be able to access a calendar of events to know when the Expo Center is available for riding or is rented for an event. The site will also include links to the membership agreement and additional information about the facility. Check out the site at www.CherokeeExpoCenter.com in the near future. Information will also be posted on a Facebook page -- just search for "Cherokee County 4-H Expo Center."
Meeting room/restroom facilities in the Expo Center annex are projected to be completed by spring/early summer. Thank's to Bomgaars Supply for making this part of the project a reality.
Expo Center manager, Sue Schwaller, will coordinate use and leasing of the facility for the Fair Association. Fair Board member, Leon Klotz, will continue to coordinate leasing and activities on the remainder of the fairgrounds.
