Area resident recognized by Morningside College

SIOUX CITY -- Megan Deichmann, daughter of John and Mary Deichmann of Marcus, was one of the third-year nursing students recognized by Morningside College recently at the 2012 Professional Beginnings Ceremony at Grace United Methodist Church in Sioux City.

Deichmann is a 2010 graduate of Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn High School.

During the ceremony, the students received pins commemorating the work of Florence Nightingale. The event included a welcome by William Deeds, vice president for academic affairs and dean of the college, and an address by members of the nursing faculty: Mary Kovarna, Jacklyn Barber, Lori Doeschot and Cheryl Harrington.
