SIBLEY - The Cherokee Braves crowned three individual champions at Saturday's Sibley-Ocheyedan Wrestling Invitational won by team champ Sheldon-South O'Brien with 175 points.
Cherokee's titleists were Hunter Morrow at 126 pounds, Blake Booth at 152, and Micheal Rosewall at 285. Luke Zeimen was runner-up at 160.
Morrow pinned both foes on his way to the title, including a :51 fall over Kyle Green of S-O, and a 5:00 fall over Josh Gorter of S-SOS.
Booth pinned Hunter Brown of G-T in 1:27, pinned Jack Walter of MOC-FV in1:11, and pinned Tyler O'Connor of S-O in 3:36.
Rosewall pinned Levi Letsche of MMC in :45, pinned Bryce Kelleher of S-SOS in 3:21, and pinned Cody Thompson of G-T in :46.
Zeimen pinned Matt McGrauth of G-T in 2:58, beat Dylan Rolfes of MMC 11-8, and lost by injury default to Toby Maggert of S-SOS in the title match.
Fourth-place finishers for the Braves were Drake Bechtel at 106, and Andy Pitts at 138. Bechtel posted a 1-2 match record for the day, while Pitts was 2-2.
"The Cherokee Braves wrestling team had a tough day at the Sibley-Ocheyedan tournament," said Cherokee coach Austin Todd." We need to work on wrestling hard all day whether we are wrestling for first place or fifth place. "Highlights of the day were having three individual champions. Hunter Morrow, Blake Booth, and Michael Rosewall pinned their way through the tournament."
The Braves host the annual Paul Fuhrman Invitational here Saturday.
