ALTA - The Alta-Aurelia boys scored 20 points in each of the first three quraters en route to a convincing 68-37 Twin Lakes Conference basketball win over Prairie Valley.
Colton Ballantyne and Mitchel McDonald each scored 12 points to lead the Warrior effort, while Jayson Van Haaften was right behind them with 11 points. McDonald also snared 12 rebounds for his third straight double-double effort. Ballantyne also had four steals and Van Haaften dished out four assists. Playmaker Ross Friedrich had seven assists to lead the team in that department.
"What a great team win," excalaimed an excited Alta-Aurelia coach Randy Bissen. "We did everything right tonight. Our defense was great, we passed the ball well, we made shots, and we rebounded. Everybody contributed in one way or another.
"We controlled the basketball game right from the start ,and did a nice job of being the aggressors. We'll see if we can continue the momentum into our next couple of games before break."
