MARCUS - The Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn girls led throughout the first three quarters of Tuesday night's basketball game against Granville Spalding, only to be out-scored 14-5 in the 4th quarter and fall to the Spartans, 49-45.

Sarah Dreckman and Madison Johnson each scored 10 points to lead the Lady Eagles' scoring, while Sarah Bird grabbed 11 rebounds.

Dreckman also swiped five passes to lead the Lady Eagle's defensive effort.

The young Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn team (1-7) resumes play after Christmas with a January 4th game against South O'Brien at Paullina.
