MARCUS - The 7-1 Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn boys just kept on winning here last week, decking a good Remsen St. Mary's team 75-51 after firing off a 44-21 scoring tear in the second half to break from a tenuous 31-30 halftime bulge.
Dylan Spieler and Tyler Prunty provided a distinct 1-2 punch for the Eagles, with Spieler tallying 25 points and Prunty adding 17 for a winning combo. Spieler also raked in 14 rebounds for a sweet double-double performance, while Prunty just missed that double-double with nine boards.
MMC sank 36-82 field goals for 44 percent, and converted 10-20 free throws in the game.
Prunty and Jared Gross paced the Eagles in assists with three each, and Spieler and Ben Specht led the team in steals with three apiece.
