Huseman continues serving district

State Representative Dan Huseman
Dan Huseman, Republican from Aurelia, was elected to the Iowa House of Representatives in 1994 and now serves the Iowa House District 3, effective Jan 1, 2013. That district is made up of Cherokee County and O'Brien County and portions of Sioux and Plymouth Counties.

Dan was born on June 28, 1952, in Cherokee.

His father, Dorrel, and mother, Myrna, were farmers. Dan grew up on the family farm in Cherokee County with five brothers and sisters and attended Aurelia grade school. He graduated in 1970 from Aurelia High School, and following high school, graduated from Buena Vista College in Storm Lake in 1974.

After college, Dan married his wife, Barbara, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Aurelia. The couple have three grown children, all of whom remain in Iowa. Neil lives in Sioux City, Amy lives in Iowa Falls, and Erin lives in Des Moines.

Dan is very active at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Aurelia. Currently, he serves on the Board of Discipleship, and he has previously served as the congregation's Vice-President, Chairman of Christian Education, Youth and Welfare Committee and Finance Secretary.

When not working on the family farm, Dan is active in the Cherokee Chamber of Commerce, the Iowa Farm Bureau, Pork Producers, Cattlemen's Association, Soybean Association, Corn Growers and the Aurelia Kiwanis.
