Chuck Wulfsen, President at Central Bank, is pleased to announce that the Dr. John W. Dewar Scholarship Fund has extended its scholarship award to Jacob Lewis for the 2012-2013 school year. Lewis will receive $680, based on the current annual income of the trust administered by Central Bank. This brings the total scholarship paid to date to $71,330.

The scholarship, awarded to Washington High School graduates, provides money for tuition over a four-year period, providing the recipients is a full-time student at an accredited college, vocational school or other post-high school institution. A grade point average of at least 2.5 on a 4.0 must be maintained.

The parameters of the Dr. John W. Dewar Scholarship Fund, established in 1992, were determined in the will of the late Lois M. Dewar. Selections are made by a scholarship committee appointed by the superintendent of schools. The award is based on academic achievement and financial need.

Lewis is attending the University of Northern Iowa. He is the son of Kent and Becky Lewis.
