ALTA - The Alta-Aurelia boys rolled to a convincing 74-24 win over Southeast Webster Grand Friday night in Twin Lakes Conference basketball. The Warriors jumped to a 27-5 lead after one quarter of play, and SE Webster scored in single digits in each of the four quarters.
Titus Letzring scored 14 points and grabbed six rebounds for Alta-Aurelia, while Mitchel McDonald had 12 points and eight boards. Jayden Van Berkum also scored in double figures with10 points, and he added three steals on the dfensive end of the court. Colton Ballantyne also had three steals to go with his seven points scored and Kale Nelson also swiped three balls.
Warrior coach Randy Bissen said, "It was a great team win. You never know how it is going to go after Christmas break, but our guys came out and played hard right from the start. We turned them over early and got out and ran. We passed the ball really well and attacked the basket in transition.
"We have a big week coming up with St. Mary's and South Central Calhoun, so hopefully we can keep improving."
