REMSEN -- Local businesses in five counties along with Mid-Sioux Opportunity, Inc. have raised nearly $1,000 collectively to provide assistance to needy families this winter.

"All of these funds will be used for direct assistance to families. We are grateful to have the support from the business community and from those who donated." said Dick Sievers, Mid-Sioux Executive Director.
