It's that time of the year when I get to share with you some new books we have at the library.
I will begin with the board books, which are for children ages 0 to 5. 'Llama, Llama Wakey- Wake', and 'Llama, Llama Nighty-Night' are great books to share with your children.
One talks about waking up in the morning and the other talks about going to bed. Remember those days when the younger sibling followed big brother or big sister around and tried to imitate everything that they did. Well,'If Big Can . . . I Can' is a story about a small bear who tries to do everything the big bear does. Be sure to stop by the library to see all the other board books.
Next are books for children in preschool to eight years old. 'Dog in Boots' is a story about a dog who reads a well- known book, 'Puss'n Boots'. He thinks the cat has some cool looking boots and decides he would like some boots too. So he goes to the shoe keeper's store and buys boots that look just like the cat's in the storybook.
The dog discovers the boots aren't as cool as he thought they would be and takes them back to the shoe keeper's store. You'll have to read the rest of the book to find out what type of boots the dog likes best.
Books in a series are popular both in the juvenile section and young adult section. We have book #7 of the 'Diary of a Wimpy Kid' series, and a couple of the 'I Survived' series for students ages nine to twelve.
Some new titles in the young adult books are 'Son' by Lois Lowry, 'Hidden book #10' by P.C. Cast, and 'Mark of Athena' (book #3 of the 'Heroes of Olympus' series) by Rick Riordan.
These are just a few of our new books in each age group.
We also have some new puzzles in the youth department. One actually moves when you try to put it together.
This month the library will not have a program after school. We will have our regular pre-school story time every Tuesday from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.
This year promises to be filled with fun, adventure, challenges, and surprises at the library.
So come and see us and pick up a newsletter for the latest news and programs.
