Dylan Spieler again led the way for MMC, as he totaled 24 points, six boards and five steals. Tyler Prunty posted a double-double for the Eagles, as he notched 14 points and collected 11 rebounds. Spieler and Nate Rassel each blocked two shots, and Rassel also grabbed seven rebounds. Andrew Hoefling had eight boards.
MMC coach Mark Fisher gave the Spalding boys a ton of credit, "They played their tails off tonight and really competed," he said. "I thought offensively we executed much better tonight. We got more of the shots we wanted and knocked them down.
"Defensively, we struggled at times with some little things, but those are easy fixes, and we made some stops when we needed to. I thought a lot of guys stepped up and made some key plays in a real tough environment," he concluded. "And honestly, we needed to have a game that we had to grind in the 4th and make some plays."
The Eagles, now 9-2, travel to Remsen on Friday to play St. Mary's.
