The 85th Iowa General Assembly convened Monday at the State Capitol, and among the important items on the Legislature's agenda was the swearing in of new legislators.

Senator Randy Feenstra (R-Hull) was elected to another four-year term in the Iowa Senate in the newly-established District 2 which encompasses Cherokee, O'Brien, and Sioux counties, as well as the eastern portion of Plymouth County. "I'm ready to get down to business again in the Senate," said Feenstra, a Senate Republican Assistant Leader. "I look forward to working to help create jobs, grow our economy and pass sound fiscal policy for the state."

Feenstra will serve on the Senate Ways and Means Committee as Ranking Member as well as the State Government, and Transportation Committees.
