SAC CITY - The Alta-Aurelia boys were overwhelmed by the first-half shooting of the host East Sac County boys here on Friday, and fell to their Twin Lakes Conference rival by a final score of 70-48, as the Raiders built a 50-25 lead at the half and never looked back.
Jayson Vanhaaften led the Warriors' scoring with 12 points , while Colton Ballantyne added 10 points for A-A and also had two steals on defense. Big man Titus Letzring had nine points and blocked four shots for the Warriors, while also scoring seven points,t he same number of points netted by Mitchel McDonald.
"East Sac put on a shooting display for us in the 1st half.," said Warrior coach Randy Bissen."They made 11 3's, and we didn't have an answer for it. We never gave up though, as we outscored them by three in the 2nd half.. I love the effort we bring each night. Sometimes you just have to tip your hat to the other team."
Alta-Aurelia is now 6-8 on the season, and they host Manson Northwest Webster on Friday.
