MARCUS - The Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn boys overcame a sluggish start in their game against Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire here on Saturday to post a 55-44 non-conference win over the Titans.

Dylan Spieler and Tyler Prunty provided a one-two scoring punch for the Eagles as they scored 18 and 17 points, respectively. Prunty also grabbed 12 rebounds for a double-double night, while Andrew Hoefling grabbed eight boards and Spieler had seven.

Spieler also blocked a couple of shots for the Eagles, who improved to 11-2 on the season with the win.

Eagle Coach Mark Fisher said, " We did not execute on either end of the floor nearly as well as we had earlier this week. This was just a very sloppy game. Even with that said, I though we crashed the offensive glass very well tonight, and that got us lots of second chance points.

"We also played some stretches of really good defense tonight, where we rotated well and communicated. We'll need to play better if we want to beat some of the tougher teams we have left on our schedule, but you're always happy anytime you can get a win."
