On Saturday, the Cherokee Symphony held auditions for the Student Soloist Concert at the Cherokee Community Center.
Of the 10 applicants, four were selected to perform with the Cherokee Symphony at the popular Student Soloist Concert on March 3.
The following students were audition winners:
Robert Hwang Jr., of Dakota Dunes S.D., violin, is a 7th grade student from Sioux City Sacred Heart School.
Jesse Mu, of Omaha, Neb., piano, is a 12th grade student at Millard North High School.
Nadia Maudhoo, of Omaha, Neb., violin, is an 11th grade student at Millard West High School.
Victor Yip, of Hong Kong, China, piano, is a master candidate at the University of South Dakota.
Cherokee Symphony Maestro Lee Thorson of Storm Lake and Ted Hallberg, LeMars Community School's string instructor, served as judges. The Cherokee Symphony Board of Directors managed the auditions and photos of the applicants were taken by the courtesy of Pierson Photography in Cherokee.

Refreshments were served to applicants and guests.
