What an interesting winter we have had so far! The temperatures have been up and down and all around. But for the most part the roads have not been bad for traveling. Not that I'm complaining but where is all the snow?
At the library we have been reading stories, acting out rhymes, singing songs, and making crafts that help us remember what fun we can have in the snow. We will be having more winter fun during the month of February which is just around the corner.
Every Tuesday the Pre-school Story Time for three to five year olds will meet from 10:30 -- 11:00 a.m. During the month of February we will be hearing stories about Valentine's Day, winter animals, and I will have some new books to share with the children. Then we will do various activities that will reinforce the stories main idea. This is also a great time for children to get acquainted with other boys and girls their age. We're looking forward to seeing you on February 5, 12, 19, and 26.
Our Terrific Toddlers group (1 -- 3 year olds and a responsible adult) will meet on Saturday, February 9 from 10:30 -- 11:00 a.m. We will repeat some of the same rhymes and activities that we did in January. We will also talk about using sign language with your child and Peg will sign a story that parents can do with their children. If anyone already uses sign language with your child please come share with the group. It's another way for you and child to communicate.
I was hoping to have a lego program in February, but the person who was going to come could not fit it into his schedule.
However, Laura Kohn will be here on Thursday, February 21 from 3:45 -- 4:45 p.m. for an after school program, "Winter Wonderland Animals." She will help you discover what happens to some animals during the winter and how to know you've had visitors near your home. Come join Laura for an hour of fun and games.
The library will be closed Monday, February 18 for President's Day.
The newsletter for February is ready to be picked up and has program information for adults and children. Be sure to stop by the library or visit our website on the internet so you can mark your calendars.
