CCT opens season Feb. 8

Friday, February 1, 2013

"Doubt, A Parable" by John Patrick Shanley is the first in a special adjunct series of Pulitzer Prize- winning plays brought to the stage for Cherokee Community Theater by Andrew Linn.

Linn, CCT Board Vice President with nearly 20 years of service under his belt, is pleased to highlight a series of scripts which were awarded America's highest arts and writing honor.

"Doubt" is a gripping story of suspicion cast on a priest's behavior that is less about scandal than about fascinatingly nuanced questions of moral certainty. Andrew and Pamela Linn will direct "Doubt" for the CCT.

The opening performance of "Doubt" will be Friday Feb. 8. at 7:30 p.m. Additional performances will be presented at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 9, Feb. 14, Feb. 15 and Feb. 16, and at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 10.

Adult tickets are $10. Although there is no adult language in this show, it is not recommended for young audiences, due to mature themes.

All ticket holders for Friday evening's opening performance are invited to join the CCT for a complimentary wine and cheese reception that evening, from 6:30 p.m. to 7:15 p.m., prior to the show.

Reservations for CCT productions can be made either by phone, at 225-4440; in person at The Community Center Box Office, Monday-Thursday, 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.; or online, at http://cherokeect.org.

The next CCT production, in March, will be the comedy "Five Women Wearing the Same Dress," and it will be followed in June by Rodgers and Hammerstein's classic musical, "The King and I."
