Services were held on March 27, 2013 at Heritage DilDay Chapel in Huntington Beach, California, with burial at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery, Santiago Canyon, California, with Rev. Robert L. Jabro officiating.

Margaret Claudine Collister Mansfield was born November 30, 1924 in Worth County, Iowa, to William and Jessie (Tilton) Collister. Maggie was raised, along with her sister, Pat, in Cherokee, Iowa, by their mother and stepfather, Jessie and Lon Childers.

Maggie attended Cherokee schools, graduating in 1943. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and was employed by Bell Insurance Agency in Cherokee, where she strongly encouraged and guided many young women pursuing a career in insurance, one of her proteges being Joan Ballantyne of Cherokee.

Maggie married Paul Mansfield on July 2, 1947 at Immaculate Conception Church in Cherokee. They made their home in Cherokee until moving to California in the early 1950's. Maggie was employed as a secretary at H & L Tooth Company (excavating equipment manufacturing) in Montebello, California for 52 years, retiring only when her health began to fail. Maggie entered the care center in the fall of 2007 and resided there until the time of her death.

Maggie's hobbies and interests were her love of her dogs, taking tremendous pride and joy in them throughout the years.

Maggie will always be remembered as a beautiful lady with a beautiful smile, and sense of humor, a strong dedication and loyalty to her job, her friends and family, and her never-ending kindness, respect, and caring for others.

Maggie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Paul, in 2000, and her sister, Patricia Carlson, in 2001.

Left to cherish Maggie's memory are numerous friends and relatives from Iowa to California including cousins, Terry and Audrey Meyerdirk of Cherokee, Iowa, and nieces, Karen Hirt of Anaheim, California.
