Track Braves post 2 firsts at UC

ORANGE CITY - The Cherokee Braves track and field team notched two first-place finishes and one second-place finish at Monday's Orange City Unity Christian Knight Relays here.

Cherokee's Marc Husman won the 800 meters in a time of 2:06 in the brisk, windy weather, and Eamon Adamson won the 1600 meters in 4:46.

Cherokee's second-place finish was pocketed by Jaden Lux, who clocked a fine 10:55 in the 3200 meters.

The Braves medley relay of Andy Pitts, Zac Taylor, Ben Sampson, and Adamson was third in a time of 3:54.

In field events for Cherokee, Lane Peterson was third in the discus with a throw of 134-0, and Grayson Roosa placed fourth with a 120-8 effort.

The Braves 4x400 relay was fifth with a time of 3:45, featuring Sampson, Husman, Adamson, and Evan Wharton; and the 4x200 relay was sixth with Taylor, Sampson, Pitts, and Wharton clocking in at 1:40.

Le Mars won the team title with 151 points, followed by MOC-Floyd Valley 106, Hull Western Christian 55, Sheldon 50, Cherokee 47, Unity Christian 45, and Boyden-Hull/Rock Rapids 36.
