Ridge View girls beat WW, K-P
SCHALLER - The Ridge View volleyball team beat Western Valley Conference opponent Westwood in three tough sets here on Tuesday, 25-19, 25-15, 25-18, then also swept another conference opponent, Kingsley-Pierson, 25-18, 25-14, 25-11.
In the Westwood match, Anna Davis had two ace serves, three blocks and 10 kills for a good overall match. Jadyn Mohr added 13 kills to lead the Raptors at the net, while Emily Forristal dished out 26 assists; Lexi Johnson had 10 digs and Heather Hansen nine; and Emily Brosamle had three blocks.
In the Kingsley-Pierson match, Ridge View served at a 95.9% success rate, as Davis and Karlen Lamp each had two aces. Jadyn Mohr and Lexi Johnson each had 10 kills, Emily Forristal had 32 assists, Davis had 10 digs. and Davis and Emily Brosamle each had two blocks.
Ridge View coach Scott Mitchell said, "We played a little sluggish throughout the night, but we were able to won both matches. We did see some improvement in the area of serving, but we really lacked in the communication area on the court. We still have plenty of little things we need to fix," concluded the veteran coach.
Ridge View now boasts a 7-1 overall record this season, and they are 2-0 in conference play.
The JV team also won, and they are now 5-0, and the Freshman squad won their first outing of the season to go up 1-0.
