Jean Ann Roberson
Jean Ann Roberson of Cherokee, 73, passed away at the Cherokee Regional Medical Center Wednesday afternoon, January 22, 2014, surrounded by her family.
Funeral services will be on Saturday, January 25th, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Cherokee, with Rev. Magrey deVega officiating, and burial will be in the Sunset View Cemetery in Washta. There will be a family prayer service at 10:15 a.m Saturday at the church. Visitation will be at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee today from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m., with the family present from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Online condolences can be left at www.boothbyfuneral.com.
Jean was born on August 20, 1940 in Cushing to Earl & Julia (Parker) Cipperley and she graduated from Washta High School in 1958. She was married to Harold Roberson on January 22, 1959 in Washta, and worked as Deputy Clerk of Court at the Cherokee County Courthouse for over 35 years. Jean was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Cherokee, and she enjoyed camping, reading, and visiting with her friends over coffee.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Pauline Tomlinson and Wanda Paska and her husband Joe; and an infant brother, Eldon Cipperley.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Harold; two sons, Brad Roberson and his wife Sherri of Ashburn, Virginia and Bryan Roberson of Cherokee; two grandchildren, Melody and Ethan; a brother, Lanny Cipperley and his wife Jean of Ida Grove; sister: a sister, Phyllis Newman and her husband Darrell of Ida Grove; and several nieces and nephews.
