Brown competes at State Gymnastics

OSKALOOSA - Megan Brown of Cherokee competed at the State of Iowa XCEL Gymnastics meet in Oskaloosa this spring, taking third place in All-Around in the Junior B Platinum Division, competing on the bars, beam, vault and floor exercise.

Brown earlier posted a personal best of 37.5 (out of 40) points at a meet in Omaha. At that meet, Brown and teammate Erin Strohmyer also took 1st place in the team honors.

Megan, the daughter of Robert and Carole Brown of Cherokee, will be entering the 8th Grade at Cherokee Middle School this fall. She started doing gymnastics in 2003, at just two years of age, and has been competing for Springers Gymnastics in Storm Lake since 2008.
