Ridge View students attend Model U.N. Symposium

Friday, November 7, 2014

Several Ridge View High School students recently attended the Model United Nations (MUN) 2014 Fall Iowa Youth Symposium at the State Capital in Des Moines. Students from across Iowa were challenged to write position papers based on the United Sates position on a number of major international topics, including childhood obesity (Social Topic), consumption and consumerism (Economic Topic), the global burden of mental health (Science Topic), UN Security Council reform and expansion (Political Topic). The students then worked together to combine their papers and vote on amendments to the resolutions they wrote. Barb Leuschen is the Ridge View MUN advisor.
