A-A finishes 2nd by a point at Sectionals, qualifies for Team Duals

Five Warriors advance to Saturday's District

OKOBOJI - The Alta-Aurelia wrestlers finished second at Saturday's Class 1A Sectional Wrestling Tournament here , being edged out of first place by Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire by a single point, 199-198. Both teams qualified for Tuesday's Regional Duals Tournament at Clarion-Goldfield. The Warriors were scheduled to wrestle South Central Calhoun at 6 p,m, Tuesday, and if they won, they would take on the winner of the Clarion-Goldfield/ Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire match for the right to advance to the Class 1A State Duals.

Five Warrior wrestlers finished first or second at Saturday's Sectional Meet and qualified for this Saturday's Class 1-A District at Sibley.

Those qualifying wrestlers were Cooper Siebrecht, who was the champion at 106 pounds; Skylar Solko, the 120 pound champion; John Tuttle, the 126 pound champion; and runners up Colten Larson (113 pounds) and J. Walter (182 pounds).

Warrior wrestlers Jeremiah Ruby, Tyler Sanders and Trent Miller each finished 3rd in their respective weight class.
