The season really is changing

Monday, April 13, 2015

A snow flurry in Cherokee County on Thursday, April 9, was more amusing than depressing. People understood it was a brief April aberration. It would not develop into a blizzard.

It did not herald the coming of a long period of frigid temperatures and miserable travel conditions in the same way that a snow flurry in October would.

We still could face bad, even dangerous weather conditions during the spring storm season. We still face uncomfortably hot and humid conditions in mid-summer.

Still, we are through for awhile with the season that is the least favorite of most Iowans. For those who don't regard winter as their least favorite season, welcome back from your winter absence.
