We don't need a wall

The goal of securing our borders is frequently espoused, both by those in favor and those not in favor of providing a path to citizenship for illegal immigrants.

An "Iron Curtain" style fortification along the Mexican border would be prohibitively expensive. So would deporting millions of immigrants who are in the country illegally.

A program that might more than pay for itself would be aggressively fining employers of undocumented workers. If such violations of law are repeated and blatant, criminal prosecution should be considered.

Going after successful company executives and business owners is apparently too unpalatable. Instead we prefer to promote ideas that are impractical and unnecessary.
