Who doesn't get sarcasm?

Monday, August 15, 2016

Donald Trump has tried to deny that he seriously claimed President Obama founded ISIS.

Trump was asked Thursday by conservative radio show host Hugh Hewitt about the comments he made Wednesday night in Florida, and Hewitt said he understood Trump to mean "that he (Obama) created the vacuum, he lost the peace."

Trump objected, "No, I meant he's the founder of ISIS. I do. He was the most valuable player. I give him the most valuable player award, by the way, to Hillary Clinton."

On Friday, Trump tweeted, "Ratings challenged @CNN reports so seriously that I call President Obama (and Clinton) 'the founder' of ISIS, & MVP, THEY DON'T GET SARCASM?"

Does Trump understand sarcasm? If his statement that "Obama founded ISIS" is sarcasm, then he is presenting the notion as so absurd as to invite mockery.

It's so nice that Trump came to Obama's defense against an absurd allegation.

By the way, the preceding sentence was sarcasm.
