Sportsmanship is a valuable quality

Wednesday, September 21, 2016

Sportsmanship is a quality that needs to be a lifetime goal. It means accepting setbacks with grace and showing consideration to competitors regardless of who wins and who loses.

Even when a person believes that he or she has not been treated fairly, and that happens to everybody repeatedly throughout life, any objection needs to be made within the rules and should not deteriorate into hostility.

Adults need to set an example for youth regarding sportsmanship and upperclassmen must set an example for younger students.

How people deal with their disappointments shapes how they are regarded by their peers and their community.
