WHS Students head to Houston

Last week, five Cherokee Washington High School students boarded a Suburban to meet other students from nortwest Iowa at Western Iowa Tech Community College in Sioux City as the students made final preparations to head to NASA in Houston, Texas.  There, the students will compete in a Mercury Space Settlement Design Competition NASA will be.working with the students from northwest Iowa as well as with students from around the Houston area. 

In addition to the competition, the students will visit the Gulf of Mexico, the Space Center in Houston and the Neutral Buoyancy Lab, and slso see Rocket Park, which houses one of the remaining Saturn V rockets that did not get launched back in the 1970's.

The WHS stduents include Sam Conley, Kayla Riedemann, Mady Hodgdon, Matt Stines, and Max De Vos .
