Burgers with Benefits June 1
Cherokee Regional Medical Center, North Star Community Credit Union, and other sponsors host Annual Children's Miracle Network cookout on June 1 to benefit local hospitals. 62 children enter a Children's Miracle Network Hospital for treatment every minute. Whether they suffer from common childhood afflictions like asthma and broken bones, or fight bigger challenges like birth defects or cancer, Children's Miracle Network Hospitals provide comfort, treatment and hope to millions of sick kids. In fact, Children's Miracle Network Hospitals treat one in 10 children in North America each year.
To help these children receive the treatments and care they so desperately need, join us for a great cause! On June 1, burger lovers will once again gather at Cherokee's Fareway store parking lot to enjoy a delicious, freshly grilled pork burger, in celebration of the Annual Children's Miracle Network cookout. The Cherokee County Pork Producers will help with grilling the burgers.
In what has become a popular event the last 8 years, the cookout has raised over $15,000 for two benefiting hospitals: Cherokee Regional Medical Center in Cherokee, and St. Luke's Hospital, in Sioux City, which serve numerous pediatric patients combined each year.
All donations collected will remain in the local communities where they are raised and will be used to fund life-saving equipment, research, community outreach events, educational tools, and much more.
This year, in focusing on helping people in the community, local businesses will come together and sponsor this great event to help serve the message in the community that every donation matters.
Each burger sold has a purpose at the Annual CMN cookout! Through the generosity of the public, the hard work and commitment of the sponsors and workers, funds will be raised for life-saving treatment and care for children in need to truly make a difference in their lives.
