Summer reading Program
The Summer Reading Program is well underway! I am writing this at the end of week one and, boy howdy, I am exhausted! I am so glad that I am, though. This week, at our Wednesday program, we had over 70 people in the Sanford Museum for Steve Couch and his messy, super fun science program. Letís try to break that number this Wednesday when Habitat for Humanity comes to talk about what they do in their part to build a better world.
Coming up, we have Gamer Brigade this Thursday in the Childrenís Department from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.! This time, we will have our Xbox 360, Gamecube, Wii, and PS2 available for gaming fun. Yes, we do have Guitar Hero now. Just a reminder that this is for kids ages 10 and up and you are free to bring your own devices like laptops or handhelds.
This Saturday, we have a special event for Fatherís Day. Stop by for a Dad and Me Storytime and Craft from 10:30 a.m. to noon . Of course, it isnít just limited to dads; moms, grandparents, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, positive role model, or whoever! They are always welcome.
On Monday, we are combining two of our programs for one ULTRA SUPER FUN PROGRAM! Our Sit and Stitch ladies are coming upstairs and teaching our Makers how to sew. Maker Monday, an extension of our Makerspace, is every Monday in June from 3 to 6 p.m.
We also have Storytime at 11 a.m. every Tuesday. Last week, Charlene led a parade through the library. I was busy working at my desk and, all of a sudden, I hear drums banging, singing, and laughter coming from the stacks. It was such a funny moment!
Whew! And that is just one week!
Of course, Book Bingo is still going on so stop by and get your sheet. We are always here to help if you get stuck on a blank space! Our weekly programs are still on as usual, as well. Sit and Stitch on Mondays at 1 p.m., Take Two-sday Movies on Tuesdays at 1 p.m., and READit every Thursday at 10 a.m. We also have Write On! Writing Group on Thursday, June 15th from 1 to 3 p.m.
