There should be consequences for Russia’s cyber interference in the 2016 presidential election. The Trump administration has been ambiguous as to assigning responsibility, but the intelligence agencies that serve our country are unequivocal in their assertions that Russia was involved.

Vladimir Putin denied that Russia was involve, and speculated that the action might have been the work of a “patriotic Russian” acting independently.

First - it is doubtful that an individual Russian citizen would have either the motivation or sophistication to target a demographic within the American electorate. Second - Putin unintentionally revealed his true feelings by characterizing such interference as an act of patriotism.
